how to design

Choosing the menu for your wedding feast is a vital part of the whole wedding planning. You would be better off avoiding these items from your wedding menu. Learn from Captain Joe, the renowned wedding catering in Delhi!

Planning your wedding menu is a tricky business. When you choose the menu for your wedding feast, you have to consider both the taste and the nutritional value of the food. Many couples go through the same dilemma when planning a menu. There are so many foods in the food groups that it is almost impossible to choose just one or two.

We want our guests to enjoy the wedding feast but it is difficult to set a menu that has everyone's favourite dishes. Then there is also the budgetary aspect of your menu; we don’t want to serve an extravagant feast that shoots up your budget only to end up with unsatisfactory guests. Even if you can't serve a menu that has the best dishes, you have to take care to not serve dishes that are unsavoury or overwhelming on your guests' tummy.

When you choose the menu for your wedding feast, you have to consider both the taste and the nutritional value of the food. Many couples go through the same dilemma when planning a menu. There are so many foods in the food groups that it is almost impossible to choose just one or two. Captain Joe offers high quality wedding catering in Delhi and in our years of experience, we suggest our clientele to avoid these food items from their wedding menu. Read on!

1. Messy Foods

Though some dishes are very tasty and you want your guests to enjoy them too, it is better to avoid any food that can be messy for the eater. One example is Tangdi Chicken or Kachori Chaat. They are no doubt very tasty but are a bit messy to eat in a crowd. So choose foods that are simple to eat without making the guest squirm.

2. Too Spicy Or Strongly Flavoured Food

spicy-or-strongly

Don't serve dishes that may be unhealthy or even taste unpleasant. Indian food is an amalgamation of spice and flavors. Some of the best dishes in the Indian cuisine are spicy or have some strong flavour. This holds good for both hot and sweet dishes. Your wedding guests may not be excited to taste Goan Vindaloo in your wedding feast. Design your menu to incorporate moderately spiced and flavoured dishes.

Our expert chefs in Captain Joe have completed hundreds of wedding catering in Delhi and can help you choose the best dishes for a memorable wedding feast. Call us now to start planning!

3. Avoid Mini Versions

They are not good enough for a big feast like wedding. You can label them as 'healthy dishes', and they may be a good option for a snack, but they are not really ideal food for your wedding feast. So, better to avoid them if possible. Mini burgers, mini cupcakes, mini pizzas, mini idlis, mini chicken bites, French fries, are some examples of mini food items that are popular but should be avoided in your wedding menu at all costs. They can be served as appetizers if you want but not as the main course.

4. No Complex Foods

We all enjoy a night-out with burgers and tacos; they might be everyone’s favourite food but they don't find a place in a wedding feast. Wedding guests are from different walks of life and not many Indians love burgers and tacos, especially older people. Make your wedding feast good for every guest by going with simple foods that everyone can enjoy. Choose foods that can be enjoyed by all age groups. You can also include foods to offer for the children and expectant mothers.

Choose Captain Joe, reputed wedding catering in Delhi, to throw a grand wedding feast for your dream wedding.

5. Avoid Too Many Dishes

It is a feast; we agree, but don't plan too many dishes which can be overwhelming for the guests. This will only lead to wastage and the guests wouldn't enjoy any of the dishes really. If you want to serve a mixed cuisine, choose a maximum of 3 cuisines to mix and serve small portions of the food from each cuisine. This way, the guests would actually try all the dishes and also enjoy them.

6. Don't Serve Common Boring Dishes

Sambhar rice or chicken biriyani are dishes that we regularly eat at home; why serve them at your wedding too? Try different variations of these dishes to impress your guests' palate. Try prawn biriyani or jackfruit biriyani for a change. Sambhar rice can be replaced with mixed vegetable rice to add taste. Our chef at Captain Joe have served numerous wedding catering in Delhi and can suggest some amazing dishes for you to try and include in your wedding feast.

Put some time and effort in planning your wedding feast. Avoid foods that aren't good and may have a negative health impact on your guests. Make sure that the buffet section doesn't have too many dishes that are too heavy, or too many dishes that are sweet and may not appeal to some guests. Make sure that the foods you are serving are nutritious.
